Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was courted by Mary Todd by seducing him with food, specifically her mother's Almond Cake recipe.

The next specialty that Lincoln loved to eat would be the corn cake, although we know it today as Cornbread, and he also loved locally harvested honey, which he apparently loved when  Mary made honey butter to be used on his corn cakes/the cornbread. I have to admit I love this combination too. Yummy.

The next treat that Lincoln loved was a cookie that most of us only eat over the Christmas holidays, which is the Gingerbread cookie. Lincoln loved them year-round because of their versatile character and ability to stay fresh while he traveled.
